NO OF POSTS: 42 vacant posts of College Librarian, District Library Officer & Assistant Librarian and Information Officers through Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), Chennai.
1. College Librarian in Government Arts and Science Colleges - 30 Posts.
2. District Library Officer - 09 Posts.
3. Assistant Librarian and Information Officer for Anna Centenary Library in Public Libraries Department - 03 Posts.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION: As per details given below –
1. College Librarian: A passed of Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Science or Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade and a consistently good academic record with knowledge on computerization of Library Passed NET/ SET in Library Science or Ph. D from any recognized University or Institute.
2. District Library Officer: A passed of Master’s degree in Arts and Science, Master’s degree in Library Science from any recognized University or Institute and 3 years’ experience in any of the Libraries in a Supervisory cadre.
3. Assistant Librarian and Information Officer: A passed of Master’s degree of any University recognized by the University Grants Commission and Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a University recognized by the University Grants Commission.
KNOWLEDGE IN TAMIL: Applicants should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.
PAY SCALE: As per details given below -
1. College Librarian: Rs. 15600 – 39100/- + Grade Pay Rs.6000/- p.m.
2. District Library Officer: Rs. 15600 – 39100/- + Grade Pay Rs.5400/- p.m.
3. Assistant Librarian and Information Officer: Rs. 9300 - 34800/- + Grade Pay Rs.4700/- p.m.
AGE LIMIT: Candidate’s required age should be in between of 18 years – 30/35 years as on 01-07-2017 for TNPSC College Librarian Recruitment 2017 Notification for 42 District Library Officer Jobs.
AGE RELAXATION: As per Govt. rules age relaxation is applicable for said post to all reserved category candidates.
REQUIRED APPLICATION FEE: For said vacancy a non- refundable application fee is to be paid by the candidates as per rules. An amount of Rs. 150/- by General & BC candidates have to register their basic particulars through One -Time Registration which is mandatory. Candidates have to pay application fee in the form of Online through State Bank of India/Indian Bank.
Note: Applicants who have already registered in One Time Registration system paying Rs.50/- before 01-03-2017 and those who have registered for One-Time Registration on or after 01-03-2017 by paying Rs.150/- are exempted from paying the registration fee for this recruitment if they possess valid registration up to 22-12-2017.
Examination Fee: Applicants required paying a sum of Rs.200/- through online by using Net banking/ Credit card/ Debit card, or it can be paid at State Bank of India/Indian Bank.
SC/ST/Differently Abled Persons are exempted from the payment of application fee.
POST RESERVATION: All reserved category candidates ie. SC/ST/OBC/ PWD/ Women /Ex Servicemen/Widows etc (as applicable) are being selected for said post/s as per existing Govt. policy/rules.
