NOTIFICATION: Staff Selection Commission (SSC), New Delhi (A Government of India Undertaking) inviting online applications for filling up 5134 vacant posts of Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants, Data Entry Operators, Lower Divisional Clerks and Court Clerks through Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination – 2016 from eligible and interested willing candidates. Pay Scale: Rs. 5200-20200/-+ Grade Pay Rs. 2400/-.
2- Data Entry Operator (DEO): 1321 posts.

3- Lower Division Clerk (LDC): 506 posts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: A passed of 10+2 or its equivalent from any recognized Board/Institute.
REQUIRED AGE: Candidate’s required age should be in between of 18 years - 27 years as on 01-01-2017 ie. candidates born not before 2nd January 1990 and not later than 1st January 1999 for SSC Combined Higher Secondary level 10+2 Examination 2016.

Candidates who qualify in the skill test/Typing Test (Tier-III) will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their performance in the Computer based Written Examination (Tier-I) and Descriptive Paper (Tier-II). Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them.
Date of Computer Based Examination (Tier-I): 07-01-2017 and 05-02-2017.
Date of Tier-II (Descriptive Paper): 09-04-2017.
EXAM PATTERN: The candidates are required to appear in the written exam for SSC CHSL - 2016 Exam as conducted on the specified dates. Applicants will get 2 hours duration to solve the question paper and negative marking will be of one-fourth per question. The written examination is based on objective type questions on the following main topics -
• The question paper will be divided into 4 sections- English language, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Quantitative aptitude.
• There will be total 25 questions allotted to each section and the total marks for each section will be 50.
• The duration of the examination will be 75 mints. The questions will be of MCQ type.
• The question paper will be available in both Hindi and English language for Section I, III and IV.
• There will be a penalty of 1/2 marks for each wrong answer.
