EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: A passed of Intermediate / 10+2 or Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
PAY SCALE: During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Military Service Pay (MSP) will be Rs. 26,900/- per month plus Dearness allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.
NOTE: Other allowances such as Transport allowance, Composite personal maintenance allowance (CPMA), Leave Ration allowance (LRA), Children Education Allowance, Family planning allowance, HRA etc. are also admissible to airmen.
Perks: Perks such as Ration, Clothing, Medical facilities, Accommodation, CSD (Canteen) facilities, Leave (60 days Annual and 30 days Casual in a Calendar year as a privilege, subject to service exigencies), Recreational facilities, Transport for school going children and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) are also provided as per the existing rules. Group Insurance Cover of Rs. 37.5 Lakhs at a premium of Rs. 2300/- per month for all airmen and facility of Group Housing Scheme are also extended. Other facilities by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) are also extended to the families of airmen.
Service Tenure & Training: Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years (subject to service conditions). Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belagavi (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT, candidates will be sent for trade training of specified duration. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and discipline or is found to be medically unfit.
AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING, THE AIRMEN WILL BE DEPLOYED ON GROUND BASED JOBS AS PER THEIR ALLOTTED TRADE. ALLOTTED TRADE WILL NOT BE CHANGED ON CANDIDATE’S REQUEST ON ANY GROUNDS.
Job Specification –
a. Automobile Technician: As an Automobile Technician you will drive all types of light, medium and heavy automobiles, load carriers and specialist vehicles like cranes, towing tractors, fork lifters etc., subject to service exigencies. You will also carry out minor repairs, day to day maintenance and basic level servicing of the common user vehicles and specialist vehicles in the Indian Air Force inventory.
b. Ground Training Instructor: As a Ground Training Instructor, you will train personnel on drill, parade, handling of arms and physical exercise. You are also responsible for organizing and conducting all games and sports activities.
c. Indian Air Force (Police): As an Indian Air Force (Police) your responsibilities involve assuming police duties and investigation of offences. You are also in-charge of maintenance of security.
Note: Airmen will also have to undertake any other tasks as assigned by superior authorities.
AGE LIMIT: Candidates born between 13 January 1998 and 27 June 2001 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally for IAF Recruitment Rally at Jalgaon (Maharashtra) for Y Group Jobs.

Medical Standards: Candidates must be fit for as per Defence rules -
a. Height - As per details given below –
• Automobile Technician: 167 Cms (162.5 cm for NE & Hill States).
• GTI: 167 cms (162.5 cm for NE & Hill States).
• IAF (P): 175 cms (including NE & Hill States).
b. Chest - Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm.
c. Weight - Proportionate to height and age.
d. Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.
e. Hearing - Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
f. Dental - Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
g. Health - Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
h. Body Tattoo - Permanent body tattoos on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), Back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom and traditions of their tribes only are permitted. However, right to decide an acceptability/unacceptability of the individual rests with the Selection Centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit a photograph of the tattoo with details of size and type of the Tattoo.

Publishing of AISL: The All India Select List (AISL) will be displayed at 6 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Cotton Green, Mumbai - Maharashtra on 30 April 2018. Inclusion of name in the All India Select List (AISL) does not guarantee automatic enrolment.
