NOTIFICATION:   Indian Air Force invites online applications from bright young engineers to join in the Indian Air Force for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent & Short Service Commission (PSC/ SSC) in Technical and Ground Duty Branches for the courses commencing in July 2015 for Men and Women through FCAT 02/2014 to be held on 31-08-2014 from eligible & interested Indian residents; candidates can apply through online mode application up to 03-07-2014.

Degree in Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics ) of 4 year from a recognized University  or cleared Section A and B exam of Associate Membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.



NOTE:  Candidates appearing in final year/semester examinations may apply for all courses commencing in July 2015 provided they fulfill the conditions of recruitment up to commencing of course.

2- AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERS COURSE (AEC): Electrical / Mechanical- Men -Technical Branch-Short Service Commission.

3- AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERS COURSE (AEC): Electrical / Mechanical- Women-Technical Branch- Short Service Commission.

4- GROUND DUTY OFFICERS COURSE (GDOC):  Permanent Service Commission- Men.

5- GROUND DUTY OFFICERS COURSE (GDOC): Short Service Commission- Men. 

6- GROUND DUTY OFFICERS COURSE (GDOC): Short Service Commission- Women. 

7- SSC:  Flying Branch- Men.

8- SSC:  Flying Branch- Women.

AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.

REQUIRED FEE:   No fee is required.

POST RESERVATION:  The reservation for different categories will be regulated as per provision of the Govt. of India as amended from time to time to SC/ ST/ OBC/ widows candidates.

SELECTION PROCESS:  Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance of total percentage of marks secured by the candidate in the written examination and all other tests. Details are given below-
All candidates whose applications are submitted by due date will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) & Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) ( for candidates applied for technical branch only to be conducted on 31-08-2014 (Sunday) at one of the examination centres mentioned below. Candidates will be required to login to their candidate login accounts regularly for information on AFCAT, EKT (if applicable) and AFSB testing. The AFCAT will be of 2 hours duration and will contain multiple choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and military aptitude. Sample question papers and syllabus of AFCAT is available on IAF career website www.careerairforce.nic.in. EKT would be for 30 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT. 

Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi. The testing would consist of three stages as given below-

(1) Stage-I Test consisting of Intelligence Test along with other tests will be conducted on the first day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing. 

All Stage-I qualified candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the branches applied for. Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage I testing or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.

(2) Stage-II testing consisting of Psychological test, Group Tests and Interview will be conducted on subsequent days (Five Days). 
 
(3) For Flying Branch: Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) would be administered to eligible candidates.

PROCESS TO APPLY ONLINE:  Applicant must have a valid E mail ID, & Mobile No., scanned photo and scanned signature before applying online. IAF may send letters for further requirement if any to the registered e-mail ID.
