NOTIFICATION:   Realizing the importance and foresightedness of the Karnataka Government, His Excellency, and the Governor of Karnataka has approved the establishment of the University of Horticultural Sciences (UHS) at Bagalkot through a special Ordinance No 2 of 2008 dated: 22-11-2008. Thus, the exclusive University of Horticultural Sciences came in to being with effect from 22-11-2008 at Bagalkot. University of Horticultural Sciences (UHS) invites online applications for the recruitment of 143 vacant posts of Faculty & Technical from eligible & interested Indian residents; candidates can apply through online mode application 10-07-2014.

Associate Professor	18 in various Disciplines		Rs.37400-67000 + AGP Rs.9000/-	A Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / disciplines/ Master's Degree with 55% marks or equivalent/ mini of 8 years of exp in teaching/research/ extension in the cadre of Assistant Professor or in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or National level Institute with evidence of published work and a mini of 5 publications as books /or research/ policy papers of which 3 papers in NAAS rated / refereed journals in the previous cadre/ Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and technology - mediated teaching learning process with evidence of guiding candidates for research/mini score as stipulated in the prescribed Score Card.
Assistant Professor	43 in various Disciplines		Rs.15600-39100 + AGP Rs.6000/-	Master's Degree in a relevant subject with 55% marks or its equivalent from a recognized University/ NET is compulsory along with 1 publication in NAAS, New Delhi rated refereed journal for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted. The candidate must have cleared the NET conducted by the UGC, CSIR, ICAR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/ SET/ Essentiality of NET can be waived-off for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009 and the candidate has 2 full length papers in journals having a NAAS rating not less than 4 on the last date of submission of application/ candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption/ Ph.D. with course work is exempted for the post of Assistant Professor of Physical Education, Library Science, Computer Science, English and Statistics/However the candidates must possess Ph.D. degree with 2 publications/ NET/SLET/SET will not be required for such Master's Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted/ However the candidates must possess Ph.D. degree with 2 publications.

Technical Assistant	05		Rs.9300-34800 + GP Rs.4200/-	A passed of SSLC /Matriculation/ completed 2 years course offered by Dept. of Horticulture / Agriculture or Allied Departments or Any Farm Universities along with computer knowledge as essential for the post.
Stenographer	03		Rs.20000-36300/-	A passed of Degree of a recognized University/ Senior Type Writing in English and Kannada & Senior Shorthand Examination in English and Kannada conducted by the Board of Commercial  Examination, Govt. of Karnataka/ good command in English and Kannada language.
Field Assistant	28		Rs.16000-29600/-	A passed of SSLC /Matriculation/ completed 2 years course offered by Dept. of Horticulture / Agriculture or Allied Departments or Any Farm Universities along with computer knowledge as essential for the post.
Laboratory Assistant	28		Rs.16000-29600/-	A passed of SSLC /Matriculation/ completed 2 years course offered by Dept. of Horticulture / Agriculture or Allied Departments or Any Farm Universities along with computer knowledge as essential for the post.

AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.

REQUIRED FEE:  A Demand Draft of Rs.1000/- as an application fee by General & OBC category candidates and Rs. 500/- by SC/ST/Cat-I category candidates for the posts of faculty and Rs. 600/- as an application fee by General & OBC category candidates and Rs.300/- by SC/ST/Cat-I category candidates to be paid in any branch of SBI through a payment challan form downloaded from official website.

POST RESERVATION:  The reservation for different categories will be regulated as per provision of the Govt. of India as amended from time to time to SC/ ST/ OBC/ widows candidates.

SELECTION PROCESS:  The shortlisted eligible candidates only will be selected on the basis of their performance in order of merit in the essential qualification prescribed for the post shall be called for interview in the ratio of 1:10 (skill based posts of Non-teaching candidates in the ratio of 1:20 will be called for Practical/Written Test).
