REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: As per details given below-
INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY AND OFFICER’S TRAINING ACADEMY: A passed of a Degree in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent.
NAVAL ACADEMY: A passed of a B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering degree from any recognized University or equivalent.
AIR FORCE ACADEMY: A passed of a Degree with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering from any recognized University or equivalent.
NOTE: Candidates who are studying in final year Degree Course and yet to pass final year degree examination or equivalent examination can also apply for the Examination, but they will be required to submit proof of passing the Degree Examination or equivalent examination by the specified dates.

INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1991 and not later than 1st July 1996 are eligible.
NAVAL ACADEMY: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1991 and not later than 1st July 1997 are eligible.
AIR FORCE ACADEMY: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1993 and not later than 1st July 1996 are eligible.
OFFICERS' TRAINING ACADEMY - (SSC COURSE FOR MEN): Male candidates (Unmarried / Married) born not earlier than 2nd July, 1990 and not later than 1st July 1996 are eligible.
OFFICERS TRAINING ACADEMY - SSC (WOMEN NON- TECHNICAL) COURSE: (a) Unmarried Women, issue less widows who have not remarried, and issue fewer divorcees (in possession of divorcee documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been no earlier than 2nd July, 1990 and not later than 1st July, 1996.
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable as per the Govt. rules for SC/ ST /OBC and Ex Serviceman category candidates.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS: candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to combined Defense Services Examination -CDS-II, 2014 as prescribed in the defence rule & regulations.
REQUIRED FEE: Candidates have to pay an amount of Rs.200/- either in any branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking of SBI or by using Credit/ Debit card.
SC/ST & Female category candidates are exempted of paying from fee.
POST RESERVATION: The reservation for different categories will be regulated as per provision of the Govt. of India as amended from time to time.
SELECTION PROCESS: The candidates will be selected on the basis of the performance in Written Test, information for which will be provided in the Admit Card. The candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the Written Test will be called for medical test followed by interview etc.
CDS SELECTION PROCESS DETAILS: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is going to conducts Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination for the recruitment of various vacancies under Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy. The following are the selection Process details for the recruitment of Combined Defence Services Exam.
UPSC SELECTION PROCEDURE CONSISTS OF FOUR STAGES:
1- Written Test.
2- Interview/ Intelligence Test/ Personality Test.
3- Document Verification.
4- Medical Test.
1-WRITTEN TEST: a- Written Exam consists of objective type questions and time duration is 2 hrs and allotted maximum marks is 100 for each subject.
b- For the candidates who are appearing for Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air force Academy, written test comprising of English, General Knowledge and Elementary mathematics subjects and for candidates who are appearing for officers training academy the written test comprising of English and General Knowledge.
c- The candidates who are declared successful in the written exam will be detailed for intelligence and personality test at the Service Selection Board (SSB) based on their preference by the respective service HQ.
2- INTERVIEW/ PERSONALITY TEST: The candidates who have been selected in written test will be called for interview at SSB. The SSB procedure consists of two stage selection process-Stage 1 and Stage 2. Only those candidates who clear the stage 1 are permitted to appear for Stage 2.
i- Stage 1 comprises of Officers Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception Description Test (P & DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on the combination of performance in QIR Test and PP and DT.
ii- Stage 2 comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officers Tasks, Psychology Tests and the conference. These tests are conducted over for approx 4 days.
The personality of the candidate is assessed by 3 different assessor’s viz. the interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist. There is no separate weight age for each test. The marks are allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in the entire test.
3-DOCUMENT VERIFICATION: The verification of document will be conducted only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.
4- MEDICAL TEST: The candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will have to undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Women candidates will undergo Medical Examination by a Medical Board comprising male/ female doctors/ specialists/ Gynaecologist. There will be a Lady Medical Officer as member of Board. Only those candidates will be admitted to the Academy who are declared fit by the Medical Board.
