Real Madrid star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has gifted an island to his agent on the occasion of his wedding.
Ronaldo attended the marriage of his agent Jorge Mendes on Sunday and announced to gift him a Greek Island as a marriage gift. According to a Portuguese website, this Greek island is very beautiful and its value is estimated to be about Rs. 764 crore.
Jorge Mendes is regarded as the super-agent of star player Cristiano Ronaldo. Besides Ronaldo, Mendes is also the advisor of Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho and striker Radamel Falcao and Manchester United’s goalkeeper David de Gea. Jorge Medes is also amongst the richest people in Spain. He is a Portuguese national by birth. It is Mendes who is behind the success of Ronaldo as far as monetary gains are concerned.
Greece is selling its islands because of the financial crisis in the country. Greece is not only selling islands but also selling public properties like tourist spots, government buildings etc. in a bid to overcome its financial debt estimated to be worth 55 billion dollars. According to sources, there are about a dozen of such islands which the Greece government is planning to sell. Few islands are estimated to be worth Rs. 21 crore.
