NOTIFICATION: Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC), Bihar has notified a recruitment advertisement to fill up 831 vacant posts of Excise Constables through direct recruitment basis/Age up to 23 years/Pay Rs. 5200- 20200/- + GP Rs.2000/-/Intermediate or its equivalent/ Written Test, Physical measurement / physical efficiency test and medical test/ CSBC Bihar Recruitment 2015 Excise Constables 831 vacancies/Apply online up to 28-08-2015. There are 25% seats reserved for Home Guard Candidates, 25% for Ex-police candidates and rest 50% for direct recruitment in Bihar Excise Constable vacancies.

ABOUT: Policing in Bihar is more than 3000 years old. In fact, there are documented historical references to policing practices adopted by the Magadh Empire. Policing in the Modern era in Bihar began in the year 1862 with the introduction of the Indian Police Act of 1861. Following the creation of the province of Bihar in 1912, the basic structure of police as it exists today in the whole of India was laid. There have been several officers of the Bihar province in pre-independence India who have made pioneering contributions to policing in India. To name a few; Mr. Walter Swain of Swain Beat system fame, Shri AK Sinha, the first Indian to become an IGP of any province, Shri BN Mullick, the founder of the Intelligence Bureau and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Khan Bahadur Azizul Haque, credited with the primary development of the fingerprint classification system, the famous ‘1024 pigeon holes’ cabinet system eventually named after his supervisor, Sir Edward Richard Henry leaps readily to the mind.

AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.
REQUIRED FEE: A non refundable Application Fee of Rs. 200/- by SC/ST and Rs. 450/- by others is to be paid through online process or Application fee should be paid at any branch of State Bank of India, through bank challan which is available for download.
POST RESERVATION: Reservation is applicable for Scheduled caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Ex-Servicemen (ESM) candidates.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in written examination and Physical measurement / physical efficiency test will be conducted for selection of candidates. Written examination will have 100 questions of 300 marks. Candidates qualified in written examination, will be called for Physical measurement / Physical efficiency test, and on the medical test.
