NOTIFICATION:      Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) Panji inviting online applications for filling up 53 vacant posts of Lecturer in Surgery, Assistant Lecturer, Senior Medical Officer for Anti Retroviral Therapy Centre, Medical Officer for Anti Retroviral Therapy Centre, Lecturer in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Junior Consultants, Ayurvedic Physician, Junior ENT Surgeon, Research Officer, Assistant Professors in Government College, College Director of Physical Education and Assistant Geologist from eligible and interested willing candidates. I. GOA MEDICAL COLLEGE:

Lecturer in Surgery: 01 post.

Required Age:    Not exceeding 45 years.

Pay Scale:  Rs. 15,600-39,100/- + Grade Pay Rs. 6,600/-.

Assistant Lecturers: 02 posts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:     As per details given below -

1. Lecturer in Surgery:            A passed of a recognised Medical qualification included in the First or the Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in Section 13 (3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956/ Post Graduate degree qualification in the speciality concerned or equivalent/ At least 3 years teaching experience in the concerned speciality as Senior Resident/Registrar/Tutor/Demonstrator in a Medical College/Teaching Institution/ Knowledge of Konkani.  Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi.

2. Assistant Lecturers:        A passed of a recognised Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of Section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956/ Knowledge of Konkani.  Desirable: (i) Registered for Post - Graduate Degree in concerned speciality. (ii) Knowledge of Marathi.

3. Senior Medical Officer for Anti Retroviral Therapy Centre:         A passed of Doctor of Medicine or concerned clinical discipline, from a recognised University/Institution, failing which, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) and Diploma in Clinical discipline, from a recognised University/Institution, with at least three years experience in the line, failing which, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) and Fellowship in Human Immunodeficiency Virus (H.I.V.) Medicine or Diploma in Public Health, from a recognised University/Institution, with at least three years experience in the line/ Knowledge of Konkani.  Knowledge of Marathi is essential.

4. Medical Officer for Anti Retroviral Therapy Centre:         A passed of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) from a recognised University/Institution/ Trained by National AIDS Control Organization (N.A.C.O.) at one of National AIDS Control Organization designated training centres/ Knowledge of Konkani. Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi is essiential.

5. Lecturer in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics:         A passed of a qualification included in Part I or Part II of the Schedule to the Dentists Act, 1948 (16 of 1948)/Post-Graduate qualification in Dentistry i.e. Master of Dental Surgery in concerned speciality/subject from a recognized institution or equivalent/should be registered with Dental Council/ Knowledge of Konkani is necessary.  Desirable: (i) 1 year teaching experience after post graduation in a recognized Institute. (ii) 3 years experience as Registrar/Tutor/Senior Resident/Demonstrator in the concerned speciality of Dentistry in a recognized Dental College/ Medical College with Dental Wing/ Dental Institution. (iii) Knowledge of Marathi.

6. Junior Consultants:            A passed of a recognised Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the said Indian Medical Council Act, 1956/ Post¬graduate degree, failing which post-graduate diploma, in the speciality concerned/ In case of Diploma holders, Work in responsible position connected with the speciality concerned for 2 years after post-graduation Diploma. Knowledge of Marathi and Konkani is necessary.

7. Ayurvedic Physician:          A passed of a recognised Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the IMC Act, 1956/ Post-graduate degree/diploma qualifications in the speciality concerned/ Knowledge of Konkani.  Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi.

8. Research Officer:          A passed of at least 2nd Class Master's Degree in Indian History or Political Science or Sociology from a recognized University or equivalent/ Minimum 2 years experience in conducting research in the respective branch of study (Qualifications relax able at Commission's discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified)/Knowledge of Konkani. Desirable: (i) Doctorate Degree in History or Political Science or Sociology. (ii) Knowledge of Marathi.

9. Assistant Professors in Government College:          A passed of good Academic record with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade at Master's Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University/National Eligibility Test (NET)/State Level Eligibility Test (SET) shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Assistant Professor: Provided, however, that candidates who are or have been awarded Ph. D. Degree in compliance of the "University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph. D. Degree), Regulation 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Colleges". Knowledge of Konkani and Marathi is essential. Desirable: (i) Ph. D. or M. Phil. in the relevant subject.

10. College Director of Physical Education:          A passed of Master's degree in Physical Education (two years course) with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of 'B' in the UGC's 7 point scale plus a consistently good academic record/ Record of having represented the University/College at least at the inter-University/inter¬Collegiate competitions or the State in National championships /Should have successfully undergone physical fitness test as per norms. Note: A candidate, before appearing for the test, shall produce a medical certificate certifying that he/she is medically fit/Qualifying in the NET conducted for the purpose by the UGC or SET accredited by the UGC. Director of Physical Education holding Ph.D. is exempted from NET. Candidates holding Ph.D. degree who are already in the University system and have obtained Master's degree prior to 1991 will be given relaxation of 5% from 55% to 50% of marks for appointment to the post of College Director of Physical Education, Government Colleges/ Knowledge of Konkani and Marathi is necessary. Desirable: (i) Ph. D or M.Phil in the relevant subject.

11. Assistant Geologist:          A passed of M. Sc. Degree in Geology from a recognised University OR Diploma in Allied Geology from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad or its equivalent/3 years experience in the field/ Knowledge of Konkani and Marathi is essential.

REQUIRED AGE:      Candidate’s max age should not exceed 40/45 years.

AGE RELAXATION:       Relaxation in age is applicable for reserved category candidates as per Govt. Rules.
