UPSC published the final results for Civil Services Exam 2017. The result has been published on its official website upsc.gov.in Anudeep Durishetty has got the top spot, Anu Kumari has emerged second and Sachin Gupta has got the third rank.

Final results for 2017 UPSC Civil Services Exam out, Anudeep Durishetty from Hyderabad is the topper candidate.

Anudeep hailing from Metpally of Jagityal district is the son of Durishetty Manohar, an Additional Assistant Engineer and Durishetty Jyothy, a homemaker. The family currently resides in Adarsh Nagar of Metpally.

Anudeep did his schooling in Sri Suryodaya High School and intermediate in Sri Chaitanya Junior College. He completed his B. Tech from BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, in Electronics and Instrumentation in 2011.

Anudeep is a 2013-batch Indian Revenue Services Officer, posted with the Customs and Central Excise. Anudeep was awarded the best Officer Trainee in the IRS batch during the weapons training programme at NISA Hyderabad. His interest lies in football and Artificial Intelligence.

Anu Kumari is the topper among the female candidates, securing an overall 2nd rank. She has Graduated with B.Sc (Hons) in Physics from Delhi University and has done MBA (Finance & Marketing) from IMT, Nagpur.

Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their result in the official website. The UPSC main exam was held on October 28, 2017. The exam was held to recruit candidates for IAS, IFS, IPS, Central Services (Group A and Group B) and other departments. Total numbers of available posts are 990. The final result was published after compiling the result of final exams and interviews for personality test. The preliminary exams were held on 18 June 2017.

The top 25 candidates comprise of 17 men and 8 women. Educational qualification-wise the top 25 candidates are from Engineering; Sciences; Anthropology; Management; Law; Mathematics; Medical and Commerce background graduating from premier Institutions of country.

Optional subjects of the top 25 candidates in the examination ranged from Anthropology, Commerce & Accountancy, Economics, Geography, Law, Maths, Physics, Political Science & International Relations, Sociology, and Malayalam Literature.

The recommended candidates include 29 physically challenged persons (09 Orthopedically Handicapped; 08 Visually Challenged and 12 Hearing Impaired). Saumya Sharma, a physically challenged person with hearing impairment, has secured an overall 9th rank.

Total 9,57,590 candidates applied of which 4,56,625 actually appeared. 13,366 candidates qualified for appearance in Mains exam held in Oct-Nov, 2017. Out of them, 2568 candidates qualified for Personality Test conducted in Feb-April, 2018.

Based on the results of the written part held by the Union Public Service Commission in October-November, 2017 and the interviews for Personality Test held in February-April, 2018, as many as 990 names were recommended for appointment to - Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

The UPSC Main exam was conducted on October 28, 2017.

The UPSC examination was held to recruit 980 posts of Indian nationals in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Central Services (Group A and Group B) and various other Government departments. Out of 980 posts 54 posts are reserved for reserved categories. The IAS PRE (CSAT) Exam was held on 18 June 2017.

Topper Anudeep Durishetty is from Hyderabad. He is currently Assistant Commissioner in the Indian Revenue Service.  Anudeep an OBC candidate qualified the examination with Anthropology as his optional subject. He has Graduated with BE (Electronics & Instrumentation) Degree from BITS, Pilani. Anu Kumari topped among the female candidates.  She has Graduated with B. Sc (Hons) in Physics from the Delhi University and has done an MBA (Finance and Marketing) from IMT, Nagpur.

180 candidates have been selected for IAS. 42 for IFS, 150 for IPS, 565 for Central Service Group (A) and  121 candidates for Group (B). 750 are men and 240 are women among the 990 selected.

This time, 990 candidates were recommended for various government services.

Anudeep Durishetty of Hyderabad topped the exam, while Anu Kumari and Sachin Gupta secured the second and third rank.
