NOTIFICATION: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold an Examination Nation wise for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 143rd Course and for the 105th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd January, 2020 to fill up 392 Group A Technical & Executive vacant posts of Commissioned Officers in various disciplines from eligible and interested willing unmarried candidates. The candidates joining Indian Naval Academy would undergo for 4 years B. Tech Course and would be given an opportunity to join Executive and Technical Branches of the Navy subject to availability of vacancies. UPSC NDA NA 2019: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an official notification for National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) examination (I) 2019. All those who are aspiring to join Indian Defence Services can check the same at www.governmentdailyjobs.com. Selected ones will gain admission at NDA and INA. The registration will continue till February 4. The exam is being conducted on April 21 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA, for the 143th course and for the 105rd Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from January 2, 2020. Those who will clear the exam will then have to appear for SSB interview and medical test.

A - National Defence Academy (NDA): 342 vacancies –

B - Naval Academy (NA I) (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 50 vacancies.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: As per details given below -
1. National Defence Academy: A passed of 12th Class of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
2. Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): A passed of 12th Class of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
NOTE: Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2019 as per guidelines given in Appendix-IV.
PAY SCALE: During training period all cadets will get Rs. 56100/- p. m and after successful training they will be placed in pay matrix level 10 of Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500/- and many other allowance applicable time to time and applicable DA for UPSC NDA & NA 1 Recruitment 2019 for 392 Posts Apply Online.
UPSC NDA & NA Examination (I) 2019 Notification,
AGE LIMIT: Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd July, 2000 and not later than 1st July, 2003 are eligible.
AGE RELAXATION: As per Govt. rules age relaxation is applicable for said post to all reserved category candidates.
Physical Conditioning: Prospective candidates are advised to keep themselves in good physical condition, by following the under mentioned routine —
A- Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes.
B- Skipping.
C- Pushups and sit ups (minimum 20 each).
D- Chin ups (minimum 08).
E- Rope climbing 3-4 metres.

TRAINING: The selected candidates for the three services viz, Army, Navy and Air Force are given preliminary training both academic and physical for a period of 3 years at the National Defence Academy which is an Inter-Service Institution. The training during the first two and half years is common to the cadets of three wings. All the cadets on passing out will be awarded degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi as under -
1. Army Cadets: B. Sc/ B. Sc (Computer)/ B.A.
2. Naval Cadets: B. Tech Degree.
3. Air Force Cadets: B. Tech Degree.
Note: All the cadets undergoing B.Sc/B. Sc (Computer)/BA Degree programme shall be awarded the degree on the successful completion of Academics, Physical and Service Training at NDA. All the cadets undergoing B Tech programme shall be awarded the B. Tech degree on the subsequent Pre Commissioning Training Academies/ Institutions/ Ships/ Air Craft.
• The selected candidates of the Naval Academy will be given preliminary training both academic and physical, for a period of 04 years at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. The cadets of 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme will be awarded a B. Tech Degree on successful completion of training.
• On passing out from the National Defence Academy, Army Cadets go to the Indian Military Academy, Dehra Dun, Naval Cadets to Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Air Force cadets to AFA, Hyderabad.
• At the I.M.A. Army Cadets are known as Gentlemen Cadets and are given strenuous military training for a period of one year aimed at turning officer capable of leading infantry Sub-units. On successful completion of training Gentlemen Cadets are granted Permanent Commission in the rank of Lt subject to being medically fit in "SHAPE" one.
• The Naval cadets are selected for the Executive Branch of the Navy, on passing out from the National Defence Academy and are given further training at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala for a period of one year on successful completion of which they are promoted to the rank of Sub Lieutenants.
• Air Force Cadets receive flying training for a period of 1½ years. However, at the end of 1 year of training they are given provisional Commission in the rank of Flying Officer. After successful completion of further training of six months they are absorbed as permanent commissioned officers on probation for a period of one year.

Examination Centres: The Examination will be held at the following Centres -

SELECTION PROCESS: Applicants who are screened for applicability /eligibility are being selected as per organization policy/rules depending on the basis of their performance in Written Examination, Psychological Aptitude Test, and Intelligence Test /SSB Test / Interview. The selection process of NDA 2019 will be completed in 3 stages -
1. Written examination.
2. Personal Interview.
3. Medical review by Command Hospital.
TWO-STAGE SELECTION PROCEDURE: 2 -stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test has been introduced at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards. All the candidates will be put to stage-one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards. Only those candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests. Those candidates who qualify stage II will be required to submit the Original Certificates along with one photocopy each of - (i) Original Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth, (ii) Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification.

ADMIT CARD: The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available on the UPSC website (upsc.gov.in) for being downloaded by candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid & active e-mail id while filling up online application form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them.

PAPER -1 MATHEMATICS (Code No.1) (Max Marks-300) -
1. Algebra.
2. Matrices and Determinants.
3. Trigonometry.
4. Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions.
5. Differential Calculus.
6. Integral Calculus and Differential Equations.
7. Vector Algebra.
8. Statistics and Probability.
PAPER 2 GENERAL ABILITY TEST (Code No.2) (Max Marks 600) -
• PART A – English.
• PART B – General Knowledge.
• SECTION A – Physics.
• SECTION B – Chemistry.
• SECTION C – General Sciences.
• SECTION D – History, Freedom Movements.
• SECTION E – Geography.
• SECTION F – Current Affairs.
Questions on Section A B C D E and F will carry 25%, 15%, 10%, 20%, 20%, and 10% weightage.
NOTE: There will be negative marking for incorrect response given by candidates.
The SSB interview consists of 2 stages i.e. stage I and stage II. The stage (I) will consist of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT). The stage (II) will comprise of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests will be organized over 4 or 5 days. Entire process will carry 900 marks.
NDA Exams focuses mainly on English, General Knowledge and Mathematics.
Question paper includes equations and questions related to subjects listed above.
