Jobseeker’s Guidance: What Next After RRB ALP CBT-II Result?
Qualifying the CBT-II exam is a monumental achievement, but the journey towards wearing the official railway uniform is ongoing. Candidates who see their roll numbers in the zone-wise merit list must immediately pivot their focus toward the next critical hurdle: the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), commonly known as the psycho test.
The CBAT is an online psychometric evaluation specifically designed to test a candidate's mental alertness, concentration, spatial intelligence, reasoning speed, and personality traits. Unlike CBT-I and CBT-II, marks obtained in CBT-I do not count toward the final merit; instead, final selection is derived from a weighted score combining CBT-II (Part A) marks and CBAT marks in an 70:30 ratio.
Actionable preparation tips for the upcoming stages include:
- Understand the Test Batteries: CBAT consists of multiple test batteries (usually 5 test batteries) measuring distinct cognitive faculties such as memory, depth perception, concentration, and rule-following capacity.
- Practice Mock Tests Regularly: Speed and accuracy are paramount. Utilize official or trusted online simulation platforms to practice test batteries under strict timed conditions.
- Prioritize Vision and Medical Fitness: Assistant Loco Pilot positions demand uncompromising medical and visual standards (Class A-1 medical standard). Ensure your distant and near vision, color vision, binocular vision, and night vision comply strictly with Indian Railways medical guidelines.
- Habituate regular eye exercises and maintain overall physical fitness while awaiting the official call letter for the aptitude test and document verification.
