Reservation: Vertical – Nil (mostly UR). Horizontal: PwBD backlog in specific posts (Locomotor Disability & Blind/Low Vision). Women, Ex-Servicemen, and PwBD get age relaxation & fee benefits as per GoI rules. State domicile not required.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (varies by post)
- ‘SD’ Posts: PhD + ME/MTech/MSc (60%) OR BE/BTech (65%) in relevant discipline
- ‘SC’ Posts: ME/MTech (60%) / MSc (65%) / BE/BTech (65%) in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, RF/Microwave, Power Electronics, Civil, Agriculture, Statistics, Oceanography, Marine Biology, Atmospheric Science etc. Full post-wise qualifications available in official notification.
Age Limit (as on 12.02.2026)
- ‘SD’: 18–35 years
- ‘SC’ (Engineering): 18–30 years
- ‘SC’ (Science/MSc): 18–28 years Age relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Central Govt employees as per rules.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
- Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’: Screening of application → Personal Interview only
- Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’: Written Test (100 marks) + Personal Interview (50:50 weightage)
Written Test Pattern (SC Posts)
- Part A: Discipline-specific MCQs (60–80 marks)
- Part B: Aptitude (20 marks, no negative marking)
- Part C: Descriptive technical (20 marks – for Engg posts) Negative marking: 1/3 in Part A Qualifying marks: 60% aggregate (UR), 50% (reserved)

- Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (Level-10): ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 + DA + HRA + TA In-hand salary (approx): ₹70,000 – ₹85,000 (depending on posting)
