Indian Army NCC Special Entry Recruitment 2020:
Apply Online
Here, applicants who
have completed their Degree in relevant disciplines from any recognized
University are eligible to apply. Candidate age should be 19 to 25 years as
prescribed date. Join Indian Army will select the candidates on the basis of
shortlisting and SSB interview. After that selected applicants will
undergo 49 weeks training at OTA, Chennai with a prescribed stipend
monthly. Candidates should submit the application via online mode only no other

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION
Aspirant passed class of the requisite Engineering Degree course
or are in the final year of Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply.
The candidate studying in the final year of Engg degree course should be able
to submit proof of passing by 01 Jul 2020 and produce the Engg Degree
Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA.
Such candidates will be inducted on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the
cost of training at IMA as notified from time to time as well as stipend and
pay & allowances paid.

Cost of Training
The entire cost of training at IMA is at Government expense. In
case the GC is withdrawn from training academy due to reasons other than
medical ground or the reasons not beyond his control, he will be liable to
refund cost of training @ Rs.11952/- per week till 30 Sep 2020, thereafter a
yearly escalation of 8% p.a will be calculated on the Per Capita cost of
Training for each ensuing year (or as notified from time to time) for the
period of his stay at Indian Military Academy.

A - Grant
of Commission:
Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission on probation
in the rank of Lt from the date of commencement of the course or the date of
reporting at IMA, whichever is later and will be entitled to full pay and
allowances admissible to Lt during training period. Pay & allowances will
be paid after successful completion of training.
B -
Permanent Commission:
On successful completion of training cadets will be granted Permanent
Commission in the Army in the rank of Lt.
INDIAN ARMY SELECTION
PROCESS
The aspirants will
be selected on the basis of their performance in short listing of Applications,
SSB interview test and medical test
Ø Short
listing of Applications
Integrated
HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cutoff
percentage of marks for each Engineering discipline/stream (cumulatively
obtained up to 6th semester for Engg Degree course/ 2nd semester for M Sc.
Computer science/ 8th semester for Architecture) without assigning any reason.
After shortlisting of applications, the centre allotment will be intimated to
the candidate via their email. After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates
will have to login to the website and select their SSB dates which are
available on a first come first served basis, upto a specified date as will be
intimated on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Ø Only
shortlisted eligible aspirants depending on the cutoff percentage will be
interviewed at one of the Selection Centres viz. Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP),
Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing
Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be
issued by respective Selection Centres through candidate’s registered e-mail id
and SMS only. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ
MoD (Army) and NO request for changes are entertained in this regard.
Ø
Aspirants will be put through two stage
selection procedure at the SSB. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II.
Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB
interviews is five days, and details of the same are available at official
website of Dte Gen of Rtg www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This will be followed by a
medical examination of the candidates who get recommended after Stage II.
Ø Aspirants
recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued Joining
Letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies
available, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.

The
proceedings of the Medical Board are confidential and will not be divulged to
anyone. Directorate General of Recruiting has no role to play in any Medical
Boards and procedure advised by the competent medical authorities will be
strictly adhered.
ENTITLEMENT FOR TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE
Aspirants appearing for SSB interview for the first time for a
particular type of commission shall be entitled for ACIII Tier to and fro
railway fare or bus face including reservation cum sleeper charges within the
Indian limits. Candidates who apply again for the same type of commission will
not be entitled to travelling allowances on any subsequent occasion.
TRAINING
a. Selected aspirants
will be detailed for training at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun according to
their position in the final order of merit, engineering stream-wise up to the
number of vacancies available at the time.
b. Duration of training
49 weeks.
c. Candidates will
neither be allowed to marry during the period of training nor he be allowed to
live with parents/Guardians. Candidates must not marry until they complete the
full training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. A candidate, if he
marries while under training, shall be discharged and will be liable to refund
all expenditure incurred on him by the government. A candidate, who marries
subsequent to the date of his application, though successful at the Service
Selection Board interview or medical examination, will not be inducted for
training, and his candidature will be cancelled.
d. Cost of Training
The entire cost of training is at Government expense. In case the
GC is withdrawn from training academy due to reasons not beyond his control, he
will be liable to refund cost of training @ Rs. 10247/- per week (or as
notified from time to time) for the period of his stay at Indian Military
Academy.
INDIAN ARMY
PHYSICAL STANDARDS
As per details given below
HEIGHT
& WEIGHT
The minimum acceptable height and weight for men is 157.5 cms with
correlated weight. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and hilly
areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis, the height will be
relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of
candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2
cms.
VISUAL
STANDARDS
The minimum acceptable visual acuity are : Distant vision
(corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18, Myopia of not more than minus 3.5
including Astigmation. Candidates who have undergone or have evidence for having
undergone Radial Keratotomy to improve the visual acuity will be permanently
rejected. Candidates who have undergone Lasik Surgery for correction of
reflective error are NOT acceptable.
PERMANENT
BODY TATTOOS
Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearm
i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/ back
(dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are
not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes
with tattoos marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and
traditions will be permitted on a case to case basis.
INDIAN ARMY
MEDICAL EXAMINATION-TO PASS FIT
A candidate must be in good physical and mental health free from
any disability.
NOTE
Prospective aspirants are advised to exercise and keep themselves
physically fit, in order to avoid any injury due to the rigorous physical
training at Indian Military Academy. In order to be able to adjust to the
regime there candidates are advised to achieve following standards before
joining the IMA, if finally selected:- (a) Running 2.4 Km in 15 minutes (b)
Pushups - 13 Nos (c) Sit ups - 25 Nos (d) Chin ups - 6 Nos (e) Rope climbing -
3-4 metres.
Documents are to be carried to the Selection Center by the
Candidate
1. One copy of the Print out of application duly signed and
affixed with self- attested photograph.
2. Self- attested copy of Matriculation or equivalent certificate
issued by the concerned Board of education in which date of birth is reflected
for proof of date of birth (Admit card/ Mark-sheet/ Transfer/ Leaving
Certificate etc. are NOT acceptable for proof of date of birth).
3. Self- attested copy of 12′” Class Certificate & Mark sheet.
4. Self- attested copy of Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree.
5. Self- attested copy of Mark sheets of all Semesters.
6. A certificate issued by the controller of Exam/Registrar/Dean
of the concerned university or Principal of the college regarding cumulative
percentage of marks up to 6th semester of Engg Degree course.
7. Certificate from the Principal/Head of the institution stating
that the candidate is in final year and his result will be declared by 1st of
the month of commencement of course (for final year appearing candidates).
8. Declaration by the candidate of final year Engg Degree course
that he will submit the proof of passing by 1st of the month of commencement of
course.
9. Equivalence certificate of the concerned University to claim
equivalence of Engineering Degree, as applicable.
10. All certificates in original originals will be returned after
verification at the Service Selection Board itself.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: A passed of the requisite Engineering Degree course or in the final year of Engineering Degree course is eligible to apply. The candidate studying in the final year of Engg degree course should be able to submit proof of passing by 01 Jan 2020 and produce the Engg Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA. Such candidates will be inducted on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at IMA as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite Degree Certificate within the specified time.
AGE LIMIT: Candidate’s age should be in between of 20 to 27 years as on 01 Jan 2020. (Candidates born between 02 Jan 1993 and 01 Jan 2000, both dates inclusive).
AGE RELAXATION: Relaxation in age is applicable as per the Govt. rules for SC/ ST & OBC category candidates.

Fixed Stipend for Cadet Training: Stipend to Gentlemen Cadets during the entire duration of training in Service Academy i.e. during training period at IMA – Rs. 56100/- Per month*(Starting pay in Level 10).
POST RESERVATION: The reservation for different categories will be regulated as per provision of the Govt. of India as amended from time to time.
TYPE OF COMMISSION: As per given details below -
A - Grant of Commission: Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission on probation in the rank of Lt from the date of commencement of the course or the date of reporting at IMA, whichever is later and will be entitled to full pay and allowances admissible to Lt during training period. Pay & allowances will be paid after successful completion of training.
B - Permanent Commission: On successful completion of training cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lt.
SELECTION PROCESS: The applicants will be selected on the basis of their performance in short listing of Applications, SSB interview test and medical test -
Short listing of Applications: 1- Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cutoff percentage of marks for each Engineering discipline/stream (cumulatively obtained upto 6th semester for Engg Degree course/ 2nd semester for M Sc. Computer science/ 8th semester for Architecture) without assigning any reason. After shortlisting of applications, the centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate via their email. After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates will have to login to the website and select their SSB dates which are available on a first come first served basis, upto a specified date as will be intimated on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
2- Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will be interviewed at one of the Selection Centres viz. Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centres through candidate’s registered e-mail id and SMS only. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ MoD (Army) and NO request for changes are entertained in this regard.
3- Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure at the SSB. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days, and details of the same are available at official website of Dte Gen of Rtg www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This will be followed by a medical examination of the candidates who get recommended after Stage II.
4- Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued Joining Letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
ENTITLEMENT FOR TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE: Candidates appearing for SSB interview for the first time for a particular type of commission shall be entitled for ACIII Tier to and fro railway fare or bus face including reservation cum sleeper charges within the Indian limits. Candidates who apply again for the same type of commission will not be entitled to travelling allowances on any subsequent occasion.
TRAINING: a. Selected candidates will be detailed for training at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun according to their position in the final order of merit, engineering stream-wise upto the number of vacancies available at the time.
b. Duration of training - 49 weeks.
c. Candidates will neither be allowed to marry during the period of training nor he be allowed to live with parents/Guardians. Candidates must not marry until they complete the full training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. A candidate, if he marries while under training, shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government. A candidate, who marries subsequent to the date of his application, though successful at the Service Selection Board interview or medical examination, will not be inducted for training, and his candidature will be cancelled.
d. Cost of Training. The entire cost of training is at Government expense. In case the GC is withdrawn from training academy due to reasons not beyond his control, he will be liable to refund cost of training @ Rs. 10247/- per week (or as notified from time to time) for the period of his stay at Indian Military Academy.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS: As per details given below-
HEIGHT & WEIGHT: The minimum acceptable height and weight for men is 157.5 cms with correlated weight. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and hilly areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis, the height will be relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms.
VISUAL STANDARDS: The minimum acceptable visual acuity are : Distant vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18, Myopia of not more than minus 3.5 including Astigmation. Candidates who have undergone or have evidence for having undergone Radial Karatotomy to improve the visual acuity will be permanently rejected. Candidates who have undergone Lasik Surgery for correction of reflective error are NOT acceptable.
PERMANENT BODY TATTOOS: Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearm i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes with tattoos marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted on a case to case basis.
TO PASS FIT: A candidate must be in good physical and mental health free from any disability.
NOTE: Prospective candidates are advised to exercise and keep themselves physically fit, in order to avoid any injury due to the rigorous physical training at Indian Military Academy. In order to be able to adjust to the regime there candidates are advised to achieve following standards before joining the IMA, if finally selected:- (a) Running 2.4 Km in 15 minutes (b) Push ups - 13 Nos (c) Sit ups - 25 Nos (d) Chin ups - 6 Nos (e) Rope climbing - 3-4 metres.

1. One copy of the Print out of application duly signed and affixed with self- attested photograph.
2. Self- attested copy of Matriculation or equivalent certificate issued by the concerned Board of education in which date of birth is reflected for proof of date of birth (Admit card/ Mark-sheet/ Transfer/ Leaving Certificate etc. are NOT acceptable for proof of date of birth).
3. Self- attested copy of 12′” Class Certificate & Mark sheet.
4. Self- attested copy of Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree.
5. Self- attested copy of Mark sheets of all Semesters.
6. A certificate issued by the controller of Exam/Registrar/Dean of the concerned university or Principal of the college regarding cumulative percentage of marks up to 6th semester of Engg Degree course.
7. Certificate from the Principal/Head of the institution stating that the candidate is in final year and his result will be declared by 1st of the month of commencement of course (for final year appearing candidates).
8. Declaration by the candidate of final year Engg Degree course that he will submit the proof of passing by 1st of the month of commencement of course.
9. Equivalence certificate of the concerned University to claim equivalence of Engineering Degree, as applicable.
10. All certificates in original originals will be returned after verification at the Service Selection Board itself.
