भारत का संविधान भारत का सर्वोच्च कानून और किसी भी देश का सबसे लंबा लिखित संविधान है। इसे 26 नवंबर, 1949 को संविधान सभा द्वारा अपनाया गया और 26 जनवरी, 1950 को लागू हुआ। संविधान लगभग 145,000 शब्द लंबा है और इसमें 395 अनुच्छेद और 8 अनुसूचियां हैं।

संविधान में निम्नलिखित अधिकार भी शामिल हैं:
समानता का अधिकार: सरकार भारत में किसी भी व्यक्ति को कानून के समक्ष समानता या कानूनों के समान
संरक्षण से वंचित नहीं करेगी। इसे कहते हैं क़ानून का राज.
संवैधानिक उपचारों का अधिकार:
इस अधिकार में कानून
के समक्ष समानता और कानूनों का समान संरक्षण शामिल है। इसका प्रयोग अक्सर भारत के
उच्च न्यायालयों और सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में रिट याचिका दायर करके किया जाता है।
स्वतंत्रता का अधिकार: यह अधिकार नागरिकों को भाषण और अभिव्यक्ति, संघ बनाने, व्यक्तिगत स्वतंत्रता की स्वतंत्रता,
गरिमापूर्ण जीवन जीने की स्वतंत्रता आदि के संबंध में
बुनियादी स्वतंत्रता देता है।
