Reservation Policy: Vertical reservations apply for SC/ST/OBC/EWS as per Uttar Pradesh Government norms, applicable only to UP domicile candidates. Horizontal reservations include 16 posts for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) across categories, specifically for OL (One Leg), LC (Leprosy Cured), DW (Dwarfism), and AAV (Acid Attack Victims). Non-UP candidates are treated as UR. Ex-Servicemen and dependents of freedom fighters get relaxation as per GOI rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute or University; OR B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized Institute; AND Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State / Indian Nursing Council.
  • OR Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized Institute / Board; Registered as Nurses & Midwife; AND Two years experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after qualification.

Age Limit

Minimum: 18 years; 
Maximum: 40 years as on last date of application. 
Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC (UP domicile); 5 years for permanent UP Govt employees with 3+ years service; 5 years for PwBD (General), 10 years for PwBD (reserved categories); As per rules for Ex-Servicemen.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Selection stages: Screening Examination (qualifying CBT to shortlist 10x candidates per category), Main Examination (CBT for final merit), Document Verification, and Medical Examination.

Exam Pattern / Syllabus Overview

  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT), MCQs, bilingual (English/Hindi).
  • Duration: 2 hours.
  • Total Marks: 100.
  • Sections: 60 marks on subject-related topics (nursing as per qualification); 10 marks each on General English, General Knowledge, Reasoning, and Mathematical Aptitude.
  • Negative Marking: -0.25 for each wrong answer.
  • Qualifying Marks: 50% for UR/EWS; 40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD. Syllabus is the same for Screening and Main exams, focusing on core nursing subjects, with additional general sections.


Salary Structure & Benefits

Pay Matrix Level: Level-7 (7th CPC). 
Pay Scale: Rs. 44,900 - 1,42,400. 
Estimated In-Hand Salary: Approximately Rs. 60,000 - 70,000 per month (including DA at ~50%, HRA at 27% for Lucknow, Transport Allowance, and other perks).
